Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. When she was a kid she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was only six when she realized she wanted to become an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. In a school play and an Stagecoach show, she was the lead at the age 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone The 2001 film version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting agent through her Oxford drama instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been picked for these roles. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film on the screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. It also was one of the top-rated films in 2001. The opening days and weekends of ticket sales were record-breaking. The film has been praised by critics for its film as well as the performances by the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's performances "amazing". Emma was later awarded five prizes for her performance in the movie.
